Winkworth - Singing and Dancing in the Forest +Mr Clicketty Cane!

Our Week in the Forest

If you have been around Winkworth this week then you would have heard our Little Forest Folk-ers singing and dancing away to lots and lots of different songs.

We welcomed the children back into the forest with one of our favourite songs, Mr Clicketty Cane! We had a fun station to explore each verse of the song, resulting in lots of silly fun. We washed our face with orange juice using orange water and scrubbed our reflections in the mirror. The children ‘cleaned their teeth’ with 'bubblegum' with the help of some pink oobleck and our lovely big teeth set. They fixed the fence with sticky tape which was a big team project before combing the dolls hair with toothbrushes. Finally our mud kitchen was full of frying eggs and we even had a big pizza to belly flop on. Big smiles were had all round!

We have been down at the bus station this week as well. First stop was 'The Wheels on the Bus' which we sang with all the actions whilst riding our very own pallet bus. Then we made buses of all sizes with glue, coloured squares and toilet roll wheels, talking about the colours and shapes as we crafted away. The children also had a chance to play in our small world town setup with lots of people, roads, buildings, bridges, cars and buses to roam around and pick up passengers.

We went on a jungle safari too. There were so many animals in the sensory tray with lots of mud and leaves and lots of natural habitats. We had a washing line out with the animals for the Down in the Jungle song which saw the children sing and act out the song with so much joy.

To finish our week off we had some moon sand and rocks set up as well as a big rocket, a teddy to support the Whatever Next! book and a rocket cafe mud kitchen to support Zoom, Zoom, Zoom and 5 Little Men in a Flying Saucer.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
